The N-Knowledge programme aligns with President Muhammadu Buhari’s goal of poverty reduction and job creation, with a focus on unemployed youths. The training helps young Nigerians acquire and develop lifelong skills that enable them to become entrepreneurs in their communities. The training sessions featured well-organized curricular designed to shape the beneficiaries in the choice of their trades to become useful to themselves and develop competencies that increase production and add to the overall growth of society.
At the ceremony held at the Public Service Institute of Nigeria, Abuja, the Minister presented certificates, laptops, and workstations to the beneficiaries. The assorted training tools, packaged as starter packs, were procured to enable the beneficiaries to maximize the skills learnt during their stay in the camp and to start off with their vocation afterward. The certificates of completion of training, attesting to good behavior and attendance, were sealed and delivered to the beneficiaries.
Urging the beneficiaries not to sell their starter packs, Umar Farouq advised them to use the devices given to them to become independent entrepreneurs in society. The training targeted the development of competencies in software development, hardware handling, and application of ICT in the creative industry, which are catalysts to mainstreaming Nigerian youths and taking advantage of the outsourcing market for software development.
The beneficiaries will earn a monthly stipend of N10,000 for the nine-month period of their apprenticeship. The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr Nasir Sani-Gwarzo, commended the beneficiaries for their good behavior throughout the training and urged them to maintain the same thereafter. The Permanent Secretary represented by the National Coordinator Engr Umar Bindir also wished them a successful apprenticeship period ahead while maximizing the opportunity given to them.
The Minister emphasized that the beneficiaries must see this opportunity as a blessing that must not be wasted. Having interacted with various kinds of people from different backgrounds, the beneficiaries made friends, learned together, discovered together, and must put all their efforts into practice to shape their future. The Minister thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for his unwavering efforts in eradicating poverty and supporting and sustaining the National Social Investment Programme.
In attendance at the ceremony were directors of the Ministry, the administrator, and CEO of the Public Service Institute of Nigeria, Dr. Ganiyu Obatoyimbo, and aides of the Honorable Minister.
Npower is a federal government empowerment program designed to provide work experience and skill acquisition opportunities for Nigerian youths. The program pays monthly stipends to beneficiaries who are actively participating in their Place of Primary Assignment (PPA). In this article, we will discuss the latest news regarding the January, February, and March stipends payment for Npower Batch C2 beneficiaries.
NASIMS has confirmed that all Npower Batch C Stream 2 beneficiaries have been paid their December stipends, except for those with invalid account details who are currently undergoing the account validation exercise.
As of the time of writing this article, Npower has assured Batch C2 beneficiaries that their January, February, and March stipends will be paid soon. The delay in payment is likely due to the account validation process for beneficiaries with invalid account details. These beneficiaries are currently undergoing validation to receive their stipends from October, November, and December 2022. To learn more about the account validation process and when to receive stipends after validation, check out our article “When To Receive Stipends After Npower Account Validation.”
It is crucial for beneficiaries to avoid situations that may result in Npower withholding their stipends. One of the ways to avoid stipend payment hold is by actively participating in your Place of Primary Assignment (PPA). Absconding from your PPA can lead to a 45-day payment hold, as discussed in our article “Npower To Place PPA Absentees On Payment Hold For 45 Days.”
