Jamb Registration and Exam Dates

According to JAMB, registration for the 2025 UTME will begin on January 31 and end on March 5. The main exam is scheduled to start on March 8, 2025, with a mock exam planned for February 23, 2025. Candidates interested in the mock exam can opt in during registration.

How to Register for Jamb 2025

To register, candidates must meet specific requirements, including having a National Identification Number (NIN). Here’s how the process works:

1. Generate a Profile Code:
   • Send your NIN via SMS to 55019 or 66019.
   • A profile code, which is needed for registration, will be sent back.
2. Registration Fees:
   • UTME with Mock Exam: ₦8,200.
   • UTME without Mock Exam: ₦7,200.
   • Direct Entry (DE): ₦5,700.

Mock Exam for Under-16 Candidates

JAMB has introduced a special trial mock exam for candidates under the age of 16. This allows younger students to practice with the Computer-Based Testing (CBT) format without taking the main UTME.

Mandatory Requirements for Registration

To complete the 2025 UTME registration successfully, candidates must meet the following requirements:

1. National Identification Number (NIN):
   • All candidates must obtain their NIN as it is mandatory for registration.
   • Candidates can create their profile code by sending their NIN via SMS to 55019 or 66019 using their unique phone numbers. This profile code is required to proceed with registration at any accredited JAMB Computer-Based Test (CBT) centre.
2. Valid Email Address and Phone Number:
   • Candidates should ensure they have an active email address and a phone number that has not been used previously for JAMB registration.
3. Payment of Registration Fees:
   • Candidates who opt for the UTME with the mock examination will pay ₦8,200.
   • Those registering without the mock examination will pay ₦7,200.
   • Direct Entry candidates will pay ₦5,700.

The Lekki Headmaster: 2025 JAMB Novel for Use of English

JAMB has selected The Lekki Headmaster by Kabir Alabi Garba as the approved reading text for the 2025 UTME Use of English. This announcement was made via JAMB’s official X (formerly Twitter) account earlier this month.

The novel will form a significant part of the Use of English examination, and candidates are encouraged to study it thoroughly. Questions will cover the themes, characters, and plot of the novel.

Reacting to the news, the author, Kabir Alabi Garba, expressed his gratitude, describing the endorsement as a milestone in his career. He acknowledged the efforts of his mentors and thanked JAMB for selecting his work to educate and inspire candidates.

However, gifted candidates under the age of 16 can qualify if they meet the following criteria:

• Score at least 280 in the UTME.
