Job Summary
- The role will Implement security and brand protection plans as required across Diageo’s West and Central Africa regions.
- In role, you will be the primary point of contact for all security and brand protection matters within the allocated region.
- You will develop and execute localised strategies to safeguard our people and assets, aligning with broader corporate objectives.

Job Description
- To implement policies in accordance with Diageo security policies and practices.
- Report to the W&C Lead Counsel on all security matters affecting sites.
- Provide security against threats and/or actions from terrorist and criminal elements and organisations.
- Provide effective, reliable and on time intelligence information to facilitate line management to effectively perform their professional duties to the company.
- Work with Line Managers to assist in managing security strategies. Needs to respond immediately if there is a perceived or actual threat affecting the security of the company.
- Has direct responsibility over third party security providers and ensures that contractors work in line with agreed KPIs.
Key Responsibilities
- Liaise with local police services, outsourced security contractors and relevant consultants and stakeholders.
- Forge strong relationships with Commercial and Sales team to embed the brand protection agenda into their operations. Facilitate regular communication and collaborative initiatives that highlight the importance of Corporate Security.
- Implement and maintain personal and residential security procedures.
- In conjunction with procurement services, select and appoint security services providers as and when required.
- Submit monthly security reports to the W&C Lead Counsel; provide security incident reports, security tips and trends in residential, commercial and personal security.
- Develop and deliver comprehensive security and brand protection training and awareness programs and organizes security awareness campaigns as necessary.
- Keep detailed record of security incidents and other important data for learning and continues improvement.
- Provide advice, coordinate and or manage event security & executive protection.
- Assist in the development (of security aspects) of crisis and business continuity plans within the region, and act as a member of crisis management team.
- Undertake specific business projects as directed by the W&C Lead Counsel.
- Provide timely security advice to Diageo management and staff to protect people, assets, information, brand and reputation. This also includes the provision of travel security and personal Safety advice for staff travelling in SA.
- Ensure that all Diageo security operations are conducted in accordance with Diageo’s Security Standards, local & international laws and regulations, and in line with the COBC.
- Monitor security developments (generally), and Diageo security incidents (specifically), and investigate breaches of Company policy & COBC
- Ensure that appropriate security policies, plans and procedures are in place across the business in order to deal with a range of threats and ensure that these are reviewed on a regular basis.
- Proactively engage with local law enforcement, regulatory bodies and key stakeholders. Represent the company and the security department at relevant security forums in the region.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in a discipline related to the role will be advantageous. (e.g. including, but not exclusively, a qualification in Security/Risk Management, Law, Criminal Justice, Strategic or Political or Cultural Studies, etc.)
- Having background as former law enforcement agent, military, or intelligence services agent will be advantageous.
- Appropriate security industry experience in the areas of security risk assessment, security risk management, security strategy & planning, and preventative security measures.
- 5 -7 years experience in a management role, with ability to manage, lead and motivate a team of entry-level security professionals.
