Job Title: Civil Engineer Project Manager
Location: Abuja (FCT)

Job Description
- Plan and design building structures following construction and government standards, using design software and drawing tools.
- Inspect project sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications and safety or sanitation standards.
- Direct responsibility for construction operations, and building maintenance of structures at project site.
- Participate in surveying to lay out installations and establish reference points, grades, and elevations to guide construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineers, architects etc. to determine the specifications of the project
- Negotiate contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements
- Obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities
- Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations
- Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met
- Develop project schedules, budgets, and billings
- Acquire equipment and material and monitor stocks to timely handle inadequacies
- Supervise the work of laborers, mechanics etc. and give them guidance when needed
- Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports
- Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues
- Develop/execute a comprehensive client service plan
- Engages in the development of a design through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats
- Conducts quality assurance and quality control on own projects
- Participates in constructability review.

- Utilizes technologies in development of three-dimensional models of civil systems and provides markups for junior engineers/designers
- Communicate with inter-company departments to meet project needs
- Comply with guidelines and regulations including permits, safety etc and deliver technical files and other technical documentation as required
- Conduct on site investigations and analyze data (maps, reports, tests, drawings and other)
- Carry out technical and feasibility studies and draw up blueprints that satisfy technical specifications
- Assess potential risks, materials and costs
- Provide advice and resolve creatively any emerging problems/deficiencies
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
- COREN certified (Essential)
- At least 9 years’ work experience as a Structural civil engineer project manager with proven portfolio
- PMP or equivalent certification (Essential)
- In-depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles
- Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards and codes
- Expert in the use of engineering software like: Auto Card(2D/3D), MS Projects, Primavera, STAAD Pro, FORTRAN etc. (Essential)
- Availability for travel related work. (Essential).
- Familiarity with construction/ project management software
- Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- A team player with leadership abilities.
